What is Noah's Ark Christian Playgroup?

We are open during term time from 9.30am until 12 noon on Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fridays. Our aim as stated in our prospectus is to "provide high quality pre-school education with the emphasis on learning through play. We aim to assist pre-school children to develop intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually within a loving atmosphere. We aim to enable each child to fulfill their own potential, and to be accepted and loved for who they are. We believe that children learn best in a safe caring atmosphere with lots of praise and no undue pressure to achieve." We take children from 2 years and 9 months, until they start school aged 4. When Noah's Ark Christian Playgroup was inspected in February 07, the quality of our education was graded as 'good', and we were very proud to receive this grade. However we were disappointed to receive an overall grading for our childcare of 'satisfactory'. The reason we were not awarded a 'good' was because we did not not meet the OFSTED requirement that at least 50% of staff should hold a childcare qualification. In fact, within three weeks of the inspection 3 more of our staff qualified, putting us well above this requirement. We were assured by our inspector that this was the only reason the grading was not 'good'. Now that more of our staff are qualified, and knowing the that the remaining three are already part way through their courses, we hope that those reading the report will see that we offer both good education and good care to our children.
