CAMEO
Come and Meet Each Other - C.A.M.E.O.
All are welcome to join C. A. M. E. O.. This is a daytime group which usually meets at the Church on the third Tuesday of each month from 1.30pm for our usual refreshments and the speaker starts at 2pm for around an hour. Our invited speaker is set free to tell those gathered about their work or interest. The meeting is open to all who are available at that time. We have a potential of thirty-nine if all turned up, but average around twenty-five each time.
The speakers for this last year have been as varied as the work of TEAR Fund and hearing about the
training of dogs to aid the disabled, and a coach outing to Waterperry Gardens near Oxford was arranged.
The events so far this year include:
- January we shall have a visit from Frank Collier who will share his experiences working with Police dogs.
- February will see David Howe come and talk about those happy school days and tell us something of the history of local schools.
- March— Kay Sillitoe the Manager of a specialist cheese shop in Stratford will tell us about her work and perhaps have some samples!
- April— David Wheeler and his wife Yvonne, who have served as missionaries with BMS, will come and share their experiences and say how our old unused tools can be made new and sent to Third World countries.
- May— The curator of the Royal Shakespeare Company collection, David Howells, will tell us what he and those who work in wardrobe do to help stage the plays.
