In September of 2007 I began a 10 month gap year project with BMS World Mission on the North Brazil Action Team. After a month training in Birmingham me and the other 3 members of my team (Josh, Rachjeal and Leanne) headed off for the North-East of Brazil where we would be working for 6 months in conjunction with the Baptist Church in the area.

Over the 6 months we worked in an enormous range of areas. Teaching English, children's work, youth work, helping in Church services and Bible studies. All of this done with the aim of becoming part of the community we were in and glorifying God through our actions that we might be an effective witness to the people we came to know.

As a whole the experience has been phenomenal, we have been able to see God do some incredible things both in our own lives and in the lives of those around us. We have seen some stark poverty living side by side with extravagant wealth and the awesome things God can do in the lives of so many varied people.

Having returned from our time over-seas we are now on an 8 week UK tour, going into schools, youth clubs, Churches, local radio stations and various other things, telling people about our time in Brazil, how we saw God move and generally aiming to work in the communities in the UK having done so abroad.

If your interested in finding out more about BMS Action Teams check out the website, http://www.bmsworldmission.org.

The team will be in Warwick from 14th to 21st June and will be working in many areas of activity at Castle Hill during that time. Why not come and see them for yourselves!
