Our Beliefs

As Baptists, we are evangelical, which means that we hold to the traditional teaching of the church, focussing on God's love for all, shown to us in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We encourage everybody to respond personally to God's offer of forgiveness and a new start, made possible by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, and received through faith. We believe the Bible to be God's words to us and so we devote a large part of our time together studying it and applying its teaching to our lives. Because of this we believe that we should live lives worthy of God, shown through our lifestyle, our relationships with each other, other churches, and in the community.

A distinctive feature of Baptist church life is the practice of believers' Baptism, when any who have come to faith are immersed in water as a sign of their new birth in Christ. This leads to church membership and the privilege of playing a part in the policy making of the church. Our logo, shown here, draws together the cross, the waters of baptism and one of the earliest Christian symbols, the fish.

We also recognise our responsibilities to the wider church. We are members of Churches together in Warwick, as well as playing our part in the Heart of England Baptist Association and the national Baptist Union. We also support the Baptist Missionary Society in its world-wide work.

As a church seeking to serve the community, we run Meeting Point; a place where anyone can enjoy a drink and light lunch, or buy a range of books, cards and third world gifts. We also run Noah's Ark, a Christian pre-school nursery on four days a week, and a weekly toddlers group as well a youth club.

We hope this gives you a flavour of Castle Hill Baptist Church. We'd love to see you at church and belonging to our family here.
